Beaches & Mountains

A day at the beach! ~ In the Appalachian Mountains!

I did it! I took all four of them to the beach. The kids had been begging and today I mustered up the courage to do it. It was great. This is a freshwater lake in the Appalachians. I had never been to the Appalachians before so this was quite a treat for me as well.

Lily does not like the sand and screams her little head off, but she just loves the water, so once she was in her floaty feeling the splash of the cool lake water, she was giggling the cutest giggle I think I've ever heard.

All finished with swimming and our picnic. It's time to say goodbye.

The Harbor

We live near Baltimore's Inner Harbor. It is such a neat place and so very pretty down there. These photos just don't do the harbor justice, but it will give you a glimpse of my new home town. Until now I have only posted pictures of the countryside I have taken around my house but downtown is so beautiful. It's a fun place to spend the day or eventually have a date night.

Dad's Rock!

...and I believe my dear husband in particular rocks!

Really, aren't dad's just so cool? They let kids do things mom never would! They teach kids things that mom just can't. They wrestle in a way of their own. And, honestly, they even have that childhood twinkle in their eye a bit more than mom does.

And, so, on a fun note, where do you take dad's that rock for Father's Day? How about Hard Rock! Awe, yeah! This great icon is just 15 minutes from us and we all had a great time.

!HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!

~Autumn currently is aspiring to be a drummer. She currently only practices on air drums. Poor thing. Daddy though has agreed to fix that for her come Christmas. What a man! What a dad!~

Home

Home:
A place of refuge

Sometimes we are torn from the things we love. Sometimes we are stripped of what we think is so very important in our life. Sometimes we don't always have the best attitude about it. Sometimes we think we obey but our hearts really are not in the right spot so it's not really obedience. Then sometime later you have a heart check and you get in line with God and then, and only then, does all seem okay with the world. Then you know that what he took from you was so that he could place you right where you belong. Then you realize that even when you were too scared to spread your wings and fly and when you were too intimidated to go after that dream, that God did not give up on you and your dreams. Even in your disobedience of an unyielding heart, he blessed you. That is just how he works. He brings us home.....

We are home.

And here at home, we find much peace, because we are just where God wants us, trusting him, guiding us and loving us.

And here at home, little feet roam freely and hopefully learn the lesson we ourselves had a hard time with....to just dream....to just trust God....just let go and be FREE in Him.

Welcome to the world Baby Deer

On this beautiful, breezy 75 degree June day, our first baby deer came into our life. We watched her mommy's belly grow over the spring and have anxiously awaited babies arrival. Baby, we are so happy to see you! Welcome to the world! She is so sweet running through our back yard. It brings tremendous joy and tears to watch her.

She loves me.

She loves me not.

She loves me.

She loves me...NOT.

Washington D.C

Wow! That pretty much sums up how I felt at the end of Saturday. You see, we used to live in Sunny Florida, just a short little drive over to Disney World and we spent our entire 2008 visiting Disney and all those magical characters. When we left Florida, I was saddened that our children would not get to experience that for 2009. Kya has been saying she was tired of Disney and wanted to do Sea World anyway. And, yet she and Autumn could not wait to see the White House. Well, let me just say I was blown away at all that D.C. has to offer and am so happy to be living here. I grow to love this area of the country more all the time. Besides Lily screaming all day long, we very much enjoyed our day. :-)

First, we strolled by the Washington Monument. We need to return because Autumn very much wanted to ride up to the top but we could not do it this day.

We made our way around the outside of the White House. This is the South Lawn.

And here is the front lawn.

And then we walked over to Freedom Square for a photo op with the U.S. Capitol Building behind us. (Later we drove around the building.)

Before leaving D.C. for the day, we stopped by the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History.

It was such a neat day and we can't wait to go back often!
