Strawberries 2010

This was our second year going to the fields and we enjoyed it even more this year. The weather was beautiful, the kids helped more and the berries were oh, so yummy & the jam turned out great.

Another Year Gone, Another Year Ahead

We just finished up our school year here at Camp Silly.

We completed this wonderful series from My Father's World. We used their Kindergarten and First Grade (learn to read programs) and we loved it very much. So much fun!

We are taking a nice LOOOONNNNNGGGG (12 week) summer break to pick and can strawberries, visit DC, vacation in Florida and spend time being completely lazy, taking naps, watching movies, running through sprinklers and eating lots and lots and lots of ice cream.

Yet, we are all very excited about the upcoming school year. We hand selected our science topics and projects -- all just waiting in the closet to be devoured. We received our history literature in the mail and the girls screamed with exciting. It's almost hard to take the summer break (but we need it). Here is "some" of what we will be picking up with in the fall. As much as I just adore MFW, we have decided to take a break from a structured curriculum and do something with less structure, leaving room for more time to explore science & history topics at our own pace.

A Guatemalan Princess Turns Three

It started out with a little plea
Please, God, please, oh let it be
Please fill my arms with love so dear
To love and nurture year after year
I'm not worthy to love one of your own
But if you allow, your grace will hone
My abilities to give of me
To guide and love and grow to see
The Lord above called her his
No DNA nor flesh could hiss
at the love of a Father from above
or at a Mother who waited in love
To hold her forever was what I asked
And God above said yes, at last.

Now you are three, how could it be
You here with me though and that's how it was meant to be
No doubt at all, sweet girl, you were meant to be mine.
It was all laid out by the Father's design

My Little Daisy's

Is this not the cutest bunch of girls?!

I am so blessed that my girls get to hang out with such Godly, sweet little ones, and that they have such a fantastic Troup Leader!

Easter Easter Easter!

How we LOVE Easter!!!!!

This was our 2nd Easter in Maryland (the place we weren't supposed to stay - cough cough), Lily & Aaron's 3rd Easter home with us, Autumn's 5th Easter home, Kya's 6th and mine & Dale's 10th Easter together. Lots to celebrate!

We spent most of it outside enjoying God's creation on His Glorious Resurrection Celebration.

We hope your Easter was AS COOL as ours!

Not Everything is Beautiful

We all wish that every project we did turned out great,
every moment with our kids is sweet,
and nobody ever gets snippy with each other.
Right?

NOT TODAY!

This was officially the worst Easter Egg project EVER. The eggs are ugly and the attitudes were not much better.

BUT, I can say this...near the end, it was so bad, we all just started giggling and couldn't stop laughing at ourselves. We then made the best of it and dug in with both hands, getting messy. We renamed them Dino Eggs.
