Babies on the Move

We have graduated to our forward facing carseats and one of us is very happy about this. Which one could that be? Hmmmm....

A Weekend to Relax

It seems we are always busy. We decided to take a weekend to go to our favorite hotel and do nothing but relax as a family.

The girls have been learning how to use the camera so they actually took a few of these pictures around the hotel, just after breakfast.

We had told the girls they could swim all day long. At the end of the day when we announced they had 15 minutes left, Kya said "But you said we can swim all day and it's still day. It's not night yet." Hmmmmm...point taken, so we did stay poolside until the sun went down.

The next morning we met friends for Breakfast. We met this incredible family during our first adoptions. We are so blessed to have them in our life.

!Kya Reads Her First Book!

I can't tell you how excited I am. Kya has been reading words up to 4 letters for months now. We can occasionally get her to concentrate long enough to read an entire sentence, 2 sentences maybe if we wait long enough and offer a reward. But a book?! Forget it! She does not want to sit long enough to try and read a book, no matter how small. Of course she loves us to read to HER, it's HER reading to us that is the issue. It's just too much work when there is so much playing to be done. Yesterday, June 3rd, was the day though that Kya declared she was ready to read a book. We sat down on the sofa, picked up the 1st of the BOB books, knowing she could read all the words, and she did it. She completed the book. That night at dinner, she stood up and read the book to the family. Today we captured it on a 40 second video.
Remember to turn off the playlist music before starting videos.

My Favorite Songs - A Play List

I have received several emails over the past few months with the a subject similar to "Getting to Know You"....meaning they want me to know them better and/or they want to know me better. I would love to respond to these emails, but I never seem to have time. I simply run out of time each day. Combine that with the fact I've always wanted music on my blog, I decided to take time to figure out how to add a playlist. I am completing 2 task in 1. My Playlist, now added, contains 5 of my favorite songs. Of course I have many, many more, but these are 5 I could think of. I'm sure I'll adjust it over time.

Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher - this song reminds me of Jesus, my husband and my children. They give me a natural high and I can't help but dance like a fool when I listen to this, which of course had my girls in total giggly stitches today.

There She Stands - Wow! What can you say about a song written about OUR Flag. This one brings tears to my eyes.

The Prayer - Just beautiful. It's not even so much the words but the voices. The way they sing remind me of my God, the giver of all things - including beautiful voices.

All I Ask of You - Phantom of the Opera - Not much gets better than flying to NY on Valentines Day with the one you love and seeing a Broadway Show, Phantom, my favorite. What a sweet, sweet memory.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow - just about any version I love, but this is one of my favorites. This spoke volumes to me as I boarded the plane from Tampa to China, to adopt our first child....she was out there, Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

Lily's Tears

The photo shoot that Lily had at Sears really did turn out so well, that I received a lot of emails stating Lily didn't look like she was having a hard time. Not that I feel the need to prove it but this photo is so precious, that I couldn't help post it in response. Isn't she darling, even when she's having a fit?!
